My First Spray Paint Project!

I bought this beautiful table from an antique store for $20!! I completely failed to take a "before" picture but that's my first lesson learned!

I didn't have a clue as to what I needed in order to turn my somewhat dull table into a master piece. So of course I turned to what every woman turns to when they need some help, Pinterest of course!!!

I found some amazing blogs that helped me on my journey to uncovering my spray painting talents! Here are the ones I kept going back to again and again.

While I'm no Martha Stewart, I found myself needing more details or maybe less details and more tips and tricks. So I decided to write my own blog on "My Addiction to Spray Painting." Ha! Since painting my table I've also painted a dog bowl holder!  I just wanted a blog on the cheapest, quickest, but effective way to go about spray painting furniture.

So here goes:

Every blog I went to had at least 7+ items listed as "must haves." I however, did it with only 5.

* Drop Cloth - $4-5
* Spray paint- $4 (it was also a paint and primer in one, score!)
* Sanding block- $3
* Sealer- $5
* Painters Tape- $1

I laid out my drop cloth (it was plastic not cloth, for the record) then placed my table on it. I started sanding away. This was a very tiring process, considering my table was rather large with all sorts of accents and curves. I wanted the edge if the table to be a different color so I started tearing away at the painters tape to try and section that part off. This was God awful! *Helpful Tip- Don't Buy $1 Painters Tape!!!*

After I had it somewhat sectioned off and before the tape started to fly away in the West Texas Wind,  I quickly started spray painting my table. This part was fun! *Helpful Tip- Don't Spray Too Close, or the Paint with Start to Drip!* I didn't buy a mask so the next morning I woke up with the worst headache I've ever had. Might be best to spring for the mask next time!

After the first coat of paint I waited about 20-30 min then re spray painted. I then took the take off and painted the edge of the table with some paint I had laying around my house. I let it dry overnight.

Next day I sprayed the table with the sealer, it was a "glossy finish." The directions said to do 2 coats... the spray paint smell was so toxic I only did one! WoW!

Here are some pictures!!! Hope you enjoy!!
